Starkey Livio 2400 AI - Reimagining what a hearing aid can do

The Starkey Livio 2400 AI is the premium level technology in the Livio range that is the first to introduce 'Artificial Intelligence' or 'AI' into the hearing aid. The 2400 is the only technology level that comes with AI and will cost you quite a bit more than the standard non AI 2400. This particular product is only available in one style however Starkey have now released the Livio Edge which is a rechargeable in the ear hearing aid with AI technology. Features of the Product

In this section we will address some of the features in the Livio AI that make it more advanced and more expensive than the standard Livio 2400 non AI product.

Brain & Body Tracking

The Livio AI gives information based on brain and body tracking. The body tracking uses a combination of steps, activity and overall movement. The brain tracking element is a combination of daily usage of the hearing aids, engagement and time spent activly listening.

Fall Alert (Using Thrive App)

This is a very useful tool for those who are vunerable at home on their own or out and about. Within the Thrive app you can set features that will allow the user to notify a family member or close friend should they fall. The user can request a message to go to anyone they choose they just have to set it up in their app.

Heart Rate Monitor

Another usefull tool for checking your health and wellbeing. This will allow you to check your heart rate and heart rate recovery should you exercise on a regular basis.

Language Translation

Fantastic for those people who travel a lot or just want a better understading of the language of the country they visit whether that be for work or leisure. The translate facility in the Livio AI will translate speech of up to 27 different languages in almost real time. It really works! The user must make sure the person speaks slow and clear to give the hearing aids the chance to record and process this into Google translate. Requires a smartphone to do this.

Transcribe

Using voice to text transcription the Livio AI can transcribe any conversation for the user in real time. It adds an extra dimension for the user so they can hear and read, should they require, the conversation.

Rechargeability

The new Livio range comes with a built in Li-ion power cell. According to Starkey the user will get a full 24 hours of usage of a single full charge. This is including Bluetooth streaming and use of the Thrive app. The recharging unit uses induction connection to charge the hearing aids, however it is also used as a drybox. This means that whilst your hearing aids are on charge the drybox facility is automatically reducing the moisture levels in the hearing aid electronics, meaning that when you come to take them out to wear they are both fully charged and clean. An excellent addition by Starkey. The charging times are as follows:

3 hours charge - A full 24 hours of usage (including Bluetooth streaming)

1.5 hours charge - Around 12-13 hours of usage (including Bluetooth streaming)

0.5 hours charge - Around 5-6 hours of usage (including Bluetooth streaming)
